Paul Cangialosi stopped by the shop to help me rebuild the T-5 for my Fairmont Project. Paul has been building these transmissions for more than 30 years. He also sells the rebuild kits for these builds on his website 5Speeds.com. Not to mention he literally wrote the book on rebuilding these transmissions. Definitely the right man for the job.

ok I hate to post negative things but I can't stop myself….Paul "the expert" within 16 minuets has called 5th gear reverse.. reverse is the straight cut gear on the inside…
Where do i but internal parts for this trans cause my reverse and 5th gear are a bit shot out

Paul and or Eric I have a question. Is the t5 that came in the 2004 40th anniversary base model the same or similar to most t5's.
I am in the looking to rebuild my t5 in my 04 base model mustang, reason why is second gear is grinding in the 1-2 shift with the occasional pop out but no other gears has said problems, goes in reverse fine but second doesn't like down shifting. I plan on purchasing your book

YouTube algorithm brought me back to this video, watched it when you put it out originally. I have 2 T5s. One out of a Mustang GT and another out of an S10 S10 Chevrolet pickup. I'll be using the GT case and gears and the S10 main shaft and tail shaft housing for a 1965 Falcon Ranchero.
How i get this book…?
Paul those green are the aggressive discs, white ones will just removes the material on the case and wont leave marks in the aluminum. Just realizing this is a 4yr old video you likely know this already lol. Good video as usual.

Getting the shifter socket back on where the cup is all alone never ends well.. this needs a tool.. I have an idea.
In the non synchronized reverse is there a thrust bearing on the end of the shaft and fits perfectly into the tail housing?

I'm surprised you didnt mention that pulling that rear counter bearing is a premise for not reusing the same bearing…Lota stress considering its pulling the outer Cage against the rollers to drag the press fit inner race from the shaft…minor point but I think its worth a mention…..oops should have watched it to the end
