  11. World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés, the organization prepared food in Haiti following its devastating earthquake. Its method of operations is to be a first responder and then to collaborate and galvanize solutions with local chefs to solve the problem of hunger, immediately following a disaster.

    José Ramón Andrés Puerta (born 13 July 1969) is a Spanish-American chef, restaurateur, and founder of World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. He is often credited with bringing the small plates dining concept to America. He owns restaurants in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Las Vegas, South Beach, Florida, Orlando, Chicago, and New York City.

    He was awarded a 2015 National Humanities Medal at a 2016 White House ceremony for his work with World Central Kitchen.

  21. World Central Kitchen was in our area shortly after our area was devastated by a major hurricane. This is one of those humanitarian groups who truly do make a difference. God bless Jose Andreas and his volunteers.

  38. There are other events going on in this country and around the world. When you get stuck on one thing that's it you become distracted, you would have thought it was America who was attacked the way the news media are covering the story. The news media did not cover the Afganastan war and it was America who started it and it was young American people who were killed and who died for nothing, but they did not get as much coverage as this pitiful sorry story of the ukrain war. I am not encouraged or motivated by the pitiful spirit of ukrainians they are not the only ones who have lost their countries. Just think all they needed to do was be kind.
