  4. Rhode Island senate passed a bill that bans marriage before 18 yesterday. It’s expected o pass the house and be signed into law. One less state that enables child abuse.

What happened with the Deacon set the notion in place to marry her off at a young age to…basicly cover the Rape that happened..There is a Scripture in the Bible that say if a man Entices & Seduces a maiden that is not betrothed.. He must Marry her..Endow her to be His wife.. If The Brides Father refuses to give her to him as His Wife..The Guy must pay Money according to the Dowry of Virgins..This scripture may have been used to convince her parents that this was ok in some way biblical. (Exodus 22.16) but In this Ten year old Girl's case she wasn't seduced..There was no Enticement of any kind…She was Raped..She was not old enough to give Consent… To be Enticed/Seduced one must give mutual consent to go all the way with Someone ….Which is why Some Parents won't and dont let their kids date at really young ages.. This is old Testament Scripture..The Maiden can be any age..The Man can be a Younger man who Seduces & Entices a older Woman who he knows is not betrothed..Its important that legal age of Marriage requirement laws be established for both Men and Women..Ten is way too young..This is sometimes why one sees older Women with younger Husbands or State Legal Age brides with older men..There was some Enticement/Seduction going on..

  8. I can't seem to get my head around what the intended outcome is suppose to be. I was sure this was all a function of extremist religiosity, parental pressure and infrequent social norms, but I suspect there is more to the story such as unrealistic expectations concerning the very nature of marriage.
