5. The WHO’s so called investigation into the origin of this pandemic in Wuhan, China is not persuasive. The investigative team appears compromised by conflicts, vested personal interests and confirmation bias. The refusal to consider that the virus’ origin might be a virus lab in Wuhan is at odds with China’s officials over the last year: Wu Yuanbin, director at the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, directed on February 15, 2020 that biosafety of viruses and bio agents at all its labs and research institutes had to be improved. That order came from Xi Jinping.

   SARS leaked out of a Beijing virus lab three times in 2003-2004. Then WHO investigators were invited to Beijing and granted immediate unrestricted access to that lab in April 2004, right after the outbreak. WHO reported – “Results of investigations to date point to laboratory research at the National Institute of Virology in Beijing as the likely source of the outbreak.”

   The former director general of the WHO, Dr. Lee Jong-Wook, warned in 2003 “that the world would face many more SARS-like diseases in the 21st century. WHO officials called for tighter controls at laboratories where specimens of the virus are stored and studied, fearing they could be the source of another outbreak.”

   Contrast that prior unfettered and immediate WHO access to China’s labs to the recent serial denial of access, delays and restricted access to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and other labs in Wuhan in 2020-2021. What changed between 2004 and 2020?

   The Wuhan labs are indeed prime suspects, not to be ignored and dismissed by biased investigators and scientists.
