U.S. Olympian Sakura Kokumai Speaks Out After Anti-Asian Hate Attack | NBC Nightly News
Call German Embassy to deport this Nazi quickly.
You are representing wrong country and people at Olympics.
A fat racist calling an Olympic athlete a loser? What a joke…
I wish that jerk could learn some real lessons from her.
It's NOT anti-Asian, its anti-Chinese. And these racists don't really care the differences.
She seems like a really nice lady. Lock him up!
What makes it worse for him is that he's homeless as well.
Psychiatric ward got a bed ready for this dude
Here i am as an American living in a Japan for years and not once have I received any such treatment. Toss that dude in jail.
WONDER WOMAN.
800 hate groups & highest incarceration rate in the world, flagship for human rights & democracy? Aye… At least none of the groups are Asian, yet. Please keep it that way. If we have a prouder boys for Asian then there is no more UNITED states.

I used to do my PHILIPPINE SCRIMA AND ARNIS OUTDOOR AFTER JOGGING, THEN MY WIFE TOLD ME TO DO IT INDOORS, BECAUSE SHE SAID THAT I WAS SHOWING OFF. IN JAPAN, JAPANESE PRACTICE INDOORS AND KEEP IT ON A DOWN LOW. NOW, I DO IT EITHER IN THE BACKYARD OR IN MY BIG GARAGE WITH MY SONS!!!!
You should do that either in your own BACKYARD OR GARAGE OR BASEMENT WITH MUSIC. HE PROBABLY TOOK IT AS SHOWING OFF!!!
His name is Michael Orlando Vivona from Orange, Orange county
She already WON GOLD…
He is innocent until proven guilty.
We hear about the racism against African-Americans and have taken a lot of steps to address it, although we have a long way to go, but anti-Asian racism is something that has never been thoroughly addressed. This is nothing new. The perpetuation of "the yellow peril" racism has been alive and well in America since the turn of the 20th century when mass immigrant workers from China came to work in mines and the construction of the railroads.
That simmering racism has always been here. It is the pandemic, and Trump's rhetoric, that has empowered racists and given them the excuse to attack anyone who is not a part of their tribe. The problem is also that anti-Asian racism is dismissed much more than #BLM because there are not as many high level profile people standing up against anti-Asian racism as much as #BLM. You have Rhianna incognito protesting and that's about it. The other problem is that Asians do not have as much political clout as #BLM. You're not gonna see Al Sharpton yelling out a rallying cry because Sakura Kokumai was harassed in a park. It's a minor news item.
The final problem is that every group only protests when inequality, or discrimination affects them. #BLM only protests for African-Americans. When Muslims were being targeted after 9/11, not a lot of other marginalized groups stood beside them. Sure people felt bad for them but there was no big rallying cry. The LGBTQ problems — "that's their problem" is what other groups think. There's the irony.
Perhaps I'm cynical but I don't think racism, or discrimination is ever going to go away in America or anywhere else. I think it's inherent in humans and manifests itself more in the ruling class of a country or society. Like many other animals, humans are tribal by nature. We accept who we identify with and reject others. The prime example of this is where people cheer on a sports team just because they represent their city and wear specific colors. There could be not one member of the team who was actually born in the city on the team and yet the fans will cheer their team on. They will also excuse any fouls their team commits while ranting about the most minor infraction caused by the opposing team and call for their heads to roll. Isn't that like racism?
No, I do not have a lot of hope for the human race when it comes to everyone getting along. It's sad.
