1. The Academy will never harm their cash cow, they will only REWARD him. This is Hollywood pandering at its very worst.

He should have been immediately removed and had the police pick him up regardless of whether or not Chris Rock wanted to press charges. The Academy should have had Chris Rock's back! Shame on the Academy and shame, shame on Will Smith!

4. I'm not going to go through all 430 comments to see if this has been addressed or not. It is my opinion that Mr. Smith should have handled the situation better than he did. However, I would also like to know why no one is talking about the fact that Mr.Rock has not apologized to either of the Smiths for his "line-crossing" comment. A comedian does not have the right to say whatever he/she wants to. If so, they wouldn't get sued or in this case smacked for some of the crap that comes out of their mouths. It's a profession which is supposed to contain a better level of professionalism that Mr. Rock dispayed at the time.

    What I would like to see is Will Smith be banned from any AMPAS events for the next 5 years. His membership be suspended which would disqualify him from any future nominations for the next 5 years. Don't worry, there's at least a dozen other Hollywood award shows Will Smith can attend, SAG, Golden Globe, MTV, People's Choice, Nickelodeon. They'll embrace him and his dysfunctional family.

    You know what's going to happen; studio heads are going to force Will Smith and Chris Rock to appear together on stage as presenters to show the world they buried the hatchet while they boost their ratings. That's how crooked Hollywood is.
