  1. Just to be clear this law would make it illegal to have an abortion if the fetus had a defect that would make viability impossible ( like anencephaly). As long as the fetus wasn’t a threat to mothers life, that pregnancy would have to be carried to term; and you would be forced to deliver a stillborn or a baby that would die immediately after. Imagine what the mental/emotional ramifications would result from this forced birth. This is just one of many instances that could occur where there is gray area about intervention, medical harm to mother/child both.
I ask that people keep in open mind when considering this type of legislation. It isn’t always as black and white as pro-life or pro-choice. However, this sheds light on policy makers and you should vote accordingly. If you want to guarantee access to reproductive health and body autonomy – you should vote accordingly. It is ridiculous republicans are claiming they are saving lives. If they gave a damn about life or children they would implement policies that promote education, childcare, maternity leave, financial programs for low income or single parent households, sex education classes, access to free birth control and reproductive health clinics.
Unfortunately, Republicans don’t tend to support social programs and pro-life is just a battle cry to their evangelical white male base of supporters

  2. This law is so dangerous because it is unclear about what “medical risk” actually constitutes. When medical professionals are scared of being sued and it is unclear when to intervene women and babies will die.
This is an egregious assault on women and access to safe reproductive health care. These laws were made without consulting medical specialist in the field and the basic ban on abortion is negligence. If women and babies die as a result of not having access to an abortion or if staff is unwilling to intervene until it is to late out of fear of repercussions – this is a huge liability. This is beyond total neglect of privacy, this is a blatant assault on women. This is being pushed by a religious agenda and will have far more negative ramifications than keeping with existing precedent.

  3. Where are men?! Why should women always clean up the mess after men? Who is controlling your body when you are doing abortion while HE is in bed with other idiots?!

  4. More than %60 of women who go to have an abortion live beneath the poverty level of $12,000 a year.
%55 of women do not receive child support. Texas needs to get ready to expand Medicaid, Welfare, and Food Stamps. Socialism 101.

  5. a woman who has been raped or unwanted pregnant has rights if she wants an abortion that is her choice !!!! who are others to decide for that woman whether to bear her rapist's child. I myself was unwantedly pregnant and had an abortion I think abortion is also sad but in some cases the only way out. you can't force a woman to have a pregnancy she didn't want.

  6. There are other supports for "rape" victims. Sadly many of these people have no idea what it feels like to be rape. Many victims don't get pregnant from being raped but are still traumatized for life without a baby. Now she's being forced to birth a child born out of a rape situation.

  7. Birth control should be free worldwide!
Food should be free worldwide to end human suffering!
Capitalists think it’s right to give all the money to a few rich people which is insane!

  8. Don't like the law?you are free to go to another state that hopefully will do the same in the future!!!🤣🤣🤣

  9. Most of the women that are against this law is because they can't no longer do what they used to do!!!👍👍👍

  10. So this state senate says "these women" need other supports and resources…I wish this reporter would've asked her, "Are you then vigorously advocating for universal healthcare, better mental health services and for it to be covered by ALL insurance, for sex education in and outside of schools, for contraceptives to be easily accessible, etc?" I'd love to hear her answer to that.

  11. This state attorney is disgusting! She stated she was adopted—does this law offer additional/expanded resources to assist a Woman with the adoption process? For this female to believe a victim of rape/incest is capable of even uttering the abuse which has happened to her, is clearly disillusioned! Hope her daughter’s never have to go to her for assistance if they are date-raped and become pregnant!

  12. Omg, i can't murder my baby. Texas is so terrible! Literally the entire left. They are stupid and dangerous. Don't give me the rape victims either or bad embryos. They account for 5% abortions. You can't have your entire argument backed by 5% it's insignificant.

  13. We have all the resources we need lady have for years!!! Let me know what you decide when your daughter comes home fortunately but unfortunately brutally beaten and raped (let’s say by a deranged man) and becomes pregnant. And let’s say the rapist is a non-white person. Are you ready to be grandma to the rapist’s baby? Did it take you less than a second to conclude, “hell naw!” Right.

  14. If I was living in Texas, as a woman, I would move to a different state. Soon you won’t be allowed to drive, go to school and will have to wear a robe and burka.

  15. I would test the waters on this. Just keep doing abortions and if a private person sues over this and wins a case then that person will be stigmatized by the community and people will quickly learn that this dumb plan is a no go way to make women have babies.

  16. Anti women policies based on an illogical and mythical view of reality. It is slave labor promotion. The State of TX says women should be bare foot and pregnant and that’s it! Just dust in the wind. Sad and maddening for sure.

  17. These religious nutjobs are going to destroy this country. This abortion deal alone is going to bring on some ugly things for women and the children they don't want.

  18. Then tell all these self righteous and hypocritical politicians to pay for the childcare of these babies. All of those women who are forced to bear children give them up to the STATE!!!! Flood the State especially of children of rape or incest!!!!!

  19. Just WOW!!!! She is saying essentially she doesn’t give a crap about whether you’ve been raped or a victim of incest!!! Clearly you truly don’t give a crap about human life, with the lack of protections for those who refuse to protect themselves or others from spreading COVID!!! This is just about control!!! What happens to the unwanted babies???? What happens when the children aren’t adopted??? Who cares for the unwanted children??? This question never gets answered!!! We know not all children get adopted so what happens to these unwanted children???? Back to those children you send into the lion’s den when you don’t demand mask wearing who are too young to get a vaccine…. Where are the laws to protect them???? Where is your GODLY concern????😳

  20. This is actually brilliant. Let's use this laws structure for other things. Any citizen can sue a gun store if a gun they sold is used in a crime. Any citizen can sue a restaurant that doesn't abide by covid rules. Any citizen can sue a bakery that won't make cakes for gay weddings!

  21. Texas has turned itself into a vigilante state as will the red states that follow suit to this type of legislation. People from all over the world are eligible for the $10,000 Bounty so  Texas can expect an influx of  entrepreneurial bad actors coming into the state. Same for states that follow their lead.

    Martin niemoller:

First they came for the communists and I did not speak out because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Finally, they came for me and there was no one left to speak out.

  22. "Pro lifers" better not be outraged when they start finding babies in dumpsters. Oh wait they won't care because they don't give two craps about actual born humans anyway.

  23. What makes this women think having a baby under unfavorable circumstances okay. If a women has been raped or in a abusive relationship that she can not get out of what makes adding a baby into the equation any better. Yes she needs help NOT A BABY. I didn't hear any mention of help or programs being offered to these women after they are forced to have these babies. A women who is under stress or in an unhealthy environment while pregnant can development preeclampsia or other health complications there for putting the baby at risk for preterm labor or other health complications . The mental and physical health of the mother determines well being of the baby. If a mother is stressed and/or in danger during pregnancy it can be detrimental for the health of the baby. It is immoral to force a women to carry a child that she is not ready and prepared for and unfair to bring a baby into this world that probably won't get the life it deserves. I hope everyone in this county wakes up and realizes we are all slowly losing our rights as Americans everyday
