Hong Kong people are not communists, they do not share the same mindset, values and ethics as mainland Chinese, they refuse to assimilate to communism in their own city.   24. @Best Talent First of all, you are mentioning "how many" to claim the number is large. Then show me the evidence about how many if you are believing the common law system. I really try hard to find more than the one dead due to falling. And it is really hard to distinguish the responsibility if some one put their own life in dangerous environment like that. Second, how do you define the time "before the protest became more violent"? Even you put the timeline to months ago, the videos on the youtube are more about how the "peaceful" protester beat HK citizens and other innocent people to coma or blood, including the one in subway, the one on the bridge, the one in the airport, the taxi driver on the ground and so on because they have different opinions. Third, in any circumstances worldwide, if you are forming the illegal protest, you need to take the responsibility and risk to be arrested. And you need to understand most of the "protests" are illegal. This whole event has developed into a chaos and a joke. Covered by democracy does not chance the inside of it. Rioters does not even have a achievable or negotiable claim due to this amorphous situation. Rioters should really be thankful and felicitate because HK Police is really professional and restrain. They will all be dead in US, EU, South America or almost anywhere else.

    Besides, it is really meaningless to fight for the democracy and freedom by ruining it. And a noble slogan does not affect its core with blindness, madness and riot. It is just a acolasia by destroying their own home. Blaming their hopeless future to PRC is not rational. The current society is not PRC's fault if you really study some economic and history. It is due to the wealth distribution, industry linkage and so on.
