  2. I'd like to ask those who made the insulting comments to consider there is a large number of poor, old, etc who couldn't evacuate bc they are poor, old, etc. Not everyone is middle or upper class, especially in eastern NC.

  10. Ever person that did not evacuate should be fined and spend jail time. All those rescuers life are at stake because people were to dumb to leave. I don't care if you have to sleep in your car. That mother and Baby would still be alive if they had left when they was told to leave.

  14. Living in Florida people make the mistake of using a storms category (1-5) to judge how bad it will be, not taking into consideration storm surge and flooding!! People may have thought its a category 2 storm so it wont be so bad…WRONG !!! Forecasters used the word "CATASTROPHIC" for a reason !!! But still sending up hopes and prayers for those who need to be rescued as well as first responders!!!

  15. Rescuer should risk their life to save people who did not evacuate when told to do so! If they could not evacuate on their own ,they should have called the authorities for help not seek help after storm hit and traps them!

  16. Some people didn't have the means to leave the State, but I agree they could have went to shelters before this started. Being bull headed or didn't want anyone telling them what to do, could jeopardize rescues lives trying to rescue people that don't like listening. They need to stay they for a while…I bet they wouldn't do it again.

  18. Hope they didn't forget to write their social security numbers on their arms so they can identify the dead bodies. They were seriously told if you stay, write your social on your arm. I don't feel sorry for morons that stay, I do feel bad for the children and pets. :/ smh

  21. People should know they say EVACUATE, it means get off yer lasy bottom and step out of the danger zone.
    Why should first responders risk their LIVES to rescue who been TOLD time and time again and the manner again GET OUT.
    The first responders do have family and by NOT getting out you putting their lives at great risk.

  27. Some people can't afford to get out. They should have used buses and go block to block to help get people out of there.
    What's going on with the nursing homes ???
