I saw it in the 90s it was intact then, the story goes the barge broke away from its tow, and drifted towards the falls, the two crewman opened the bottom hopper doors and it ground to a halt, they spent a further 24 hour before they were rescued by a line from shore, I know the story, and I'm from australia.
