  13. I live in Oregon, not far from Salem, and the local news has been reporting this story…BUT….with a huge difference in what happened. They have reported from the first time they knew of it that he CHOSE to stay and make sure the damn was safe and that the generators that control outflow stayed running after the loss of power lines. Just in case the rest of the world would like the truth, or at least the version we have been getting in Oregon for 3 days prior to this story being aired nationally. Another item to note…the sound bite edit of this video puts two clips from before their intro clip after it….and key parts/details of the interview were deleted. Nothing like a bowl of sensationalism to spin a story in a different direction. I also do search and rescue and this mans name never came up on a list on missing. Location of last contact known, and notes of intent given. Also not that in the intro he says he has a ring he could wet down and jump into the river "if I got chased out of here" and p;lease lets not forget he is an employee at the damn as well. STILL A HERO just lets tell the story correctly!!!
