A day before the official start of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the director of the long-delayed opening ceremony was fired over a Holocaust joke he made during a comedy show in 1998.

I can’t wait for 2060s where people are getting cancelled for entering discord severs they did back in 2020’s
It's basically tells you who's in control of America. The men in the blackhats
He posted a joke on Twitter in 1998? Um I didn’t think Twitter existed in 1998
From a joke in 1998?? Are you friggin kidding me! This cancel culture is so very TOXIC and twisted!! Hitler use to cancel people, literally.
98 wtf is wrong with people
I hope nobody tells Japan about the things THEY did during World War II. They will have to cancel everything.
I'm so fed up with the cancel culture nonsense. He told a Joke back in the 90's about the Holocaust. Israel is committing Apartheid today, too bad the people who got so upset over a joke dont have the same energy for outrage over Palestinians being forced to live in an open air Prison.
Everything you say online will eventually be public. This is when comedy dies
how did he tweet out something in 1998? Wasn’t Twitter from like 2006
You are not allowed to speak your mind. Not in person, not on social media, or in the workplace. You must pretend to naturally have a politically correct disposition and only use language that 'the establishment approves of… which is constantly changing.
This is the level of Japan…😳
I thought the joke was caught on tape wheres the joke. Oh yh the NBC are the joke
I guess he would've been better off telling everyone to go fuqq themselves
He made a joke in 08? FIRE HIM!
The holocaust is in no doubt a horrible thing in our history. No one should joke about it but the director should've just apologized.
Why the chosen one fear comments.
They always delete my comment
The Opening Ceremonies were uninspired anyway
Fired for something that the guy said 23 years ago? That’s a little over the top. We all make mistakes in life. If you choose to admit it or not most people have said something of poor taste at some point in life. He admitted it was wrong to say. Move on.
It was in a stand up routine…
Lmaooo funny how one of your own PEOPLE WAS CAUGHT ON HOT MIC
As soon as the government passed laws eliminating vaccine manufacturers of any liability, I said no thanks to the shot!
It's obviously not okay to joke about something as terrible as the holocaust. But it was literally over 20 years ago! It's pretty unreasonable to fire him a day before the event. This is cancel culture overdone, we can't possibly be this sensitive.
The Olympics need to pay athletes, biggest scam ever
