The mask you wear is not to protect you. That is why the "lower protection" homemade mask IS effective. It is to protect others from you. The masks they, the others are wearing are to protect you. It only works if we all wear them. The more masks, the less "droplets" are out there to be shared. It's a wonderful thing!

What is the point of covering your face then if it doesn’t have to be medical not only will you still get exposed but now you have to worry about security and personal safety from masked strangers since NYC isn’t exactly a safe and crime free city.

If you are using a face mask to protect yourself from the corona virus it won't filter the small airborne droplets of the coronavirus. Maybe use it if you have a tendency to touch your face.

This mayor and all the other mediacal officials has been saying that mediacal masks are only suppose to be used by medical personnel, as they would not protect the general public from being exposed from the virus, well what a lot of bullshit, if it protect medical officials from being exposed to the virus why should it not protect the public the safe they have been speaking with forked tounges all because they want to keep the mask in the hands of medical personnel. Now a reversal everyone should wear some facial protection, even a a piece of cloth well Mr Mayor you are full of it, that will not protect the public, onlu a n95 mask will do. I was wearing medical mask since the virus was in china, and now I have acquired n95 as they are better protection, come take them from me Mr Mayor, just try it! I made a posting on a youtube site HOW TO MAKE A FACE MASK, in which I said take a woman bra, I am sure they have several old ones, take one cup buy some elastic band and sew two straps, and you will have good protection when outside, what's more they can be washed in lite bleach water to clea them.
