  2. I was in the middle of this storm, it was dreadful, I could barely live this way, until I went to another house in texas that COMPLETELY had power and had never been so grateful to be in a heated house

    My pipes bursted too and caused a HUGE leak on the floor that was at least 10 feet wide worth of ice cold water

Store some blankets and extra coats etc block all windows with towels, or under door way so heat wont leave Can use bubble wraps on Windows have battery operated lamps and extra battery always handy watch utube videos and always prepare for worse, buy plastic drums store water for washing or flusing

  21. So, how is that unregulated capitalism working for you? Oh and by the way : Windmills can be weather-proofed to work in these conditions. The ones we have in Denmark work just fine. I DO feel sorry for the fellow human beings that have to endure this. Don't hate the conned, hate the conmen. The same conmen who always speak of "personal responsibility", but somehow, it's always someone else's fault. The irony…..

  22. So I live in Connecticut, and there is one town in CT that almost NEVER loses power. The town of Wallingford. You know why? They have their own independent power grid. They're not part of eversource(our local big tied into the feds power company that rips everyone off yearly), Texas issue was not because of that, it was because no one designs power grids in desert climates for deep freezes, it doesn't make sense. This was a once in a millennia storm…a true 500 year storm event. Its hilarious listening to people make fun of TX power grid, because frankly independent power grids are actually far more reliable.

  26. Pretty sure it's not the "energy capitol of the world" if you're electricity isn't running. Also there's so many other places that run off of 1 electrical source that's good for the environment, but u still say you're number 1… must be an American thing

  43. Not a single comment is mentioning global climate change which is something that has been contested in the US very heavily. These storms are going to become more severe & frequent and the government's are going to leave the people out to dry in the winds.

  44. Lack of upgrades keeping it all in there deep pockets for sure. I was out of electric for 4 days lucky I has 2 cases of frozen bottles of water and a empty field down the street to cut down dead trees to burn .

  49. I don't understand how my state, Maine and(everywhere in the North east / east coast) also Canada deal with this weather for 6 months every year but Texas can't handle it? I guess they just aren't equipped for the type of weather. ? I'm really not trying to seem crude
