29. You must understand the law and expectations in the military are very different as a civilian. Even thou what he did was right, he new what would happen if he criticized leadership. Everyone in the army knows you don't do that, they will destroy you for questioning them. The army is blind obedience. It's a dictatorship not a democracy in the army. You sign away alot of your rights when you join the army. The military is a authoritarian place. And it needs to be. But this man did the right thing. He was right, but if i called out leadership each time they did something stupid I would be in prison. There's a term used alot in the army "clueless leaders" for a reason. Bad leadership is common in the military. Alot of buddy buddy permotions instead of merit based permotions going on in the army now days. Always gets you bad leaders and real good leaders are looked over in favor of leaderships friends. The good guys tend to leave seeing this and the bad guys stay amd become leaders. It's a really bad cycle that leads to rampant bad leadership. I know I was in the army for 8 years and seeing I would never be permoted I got out. Same with most of the men I served with. The only way to be permoted in the military now days isn't threw hard work and metals, now it's who you know amd who's your friend that gets you permoted. Merit is almost irrelevant it seems
