I used to repair computers and phones as a side hustle, the iPhone and Windows 10 made most repairs and upgrades useless. People find it easier to replace or manufacturers want to repair themselves only.
John Deere's reply was from Barbara Streisand (i.e. B.S.)
An they build it to fail so yea were Fu 💰🤑
I save more money without Apple care or repair. Apple repair is to expensive and the Apple insurance is a scam and a monthly rip off. I don’t care about the safety ribbon being torn apart that Apple places on there devices. It’s my property I have the right to step aside from Apple expensives repair.
This is the capitalism we have today, its not free market, glad more people are figuring it out.
What about the right to repair our Democracy?
Been happening for decades.
You can have the right to repair, but you shouldn’t be allowed to take it to the manufacturer after you’ve done your own repair, and expect them to fix it at no cost. They have no way to verify that you didn’t cause damage during the repair you performed.
Right to Repair is Right to Property. Make no mistake, if we don't get to own it, then we don't want to pay for it. No legislation that presumes to promote the right to repair should have any exemptions for any industry, any use case, any type of buyer, etc. When you buy a product, you are 100% owner of the product a should have total right to do whatever you want with your product. Period.
Am grateful i n t e l l e c t w e b s you are the best ever that I know
This has nothing to do with "the right to repair".
This is dumb Neanderthals wanting to be able to get their money back when they screw it up with their big hairy fingers

WE SHOULDNT BE FORCED TO PURCHASE NEW EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME ! ITS WASTEFUL #FkCrapitalism
fk crapitalism !!! but without govt, who would force us into requiring the services of others – its wasteful
Corporations are committed to one thing- profit. Nothing else matters including the FTC.
Important topic
The argument they made about intellectual property was debunked by an FTC report.
Sleazy reporters. OFC, it would be the mainstream media.
I don't buy products that I can't find a way to repair myself, even if it causes inconvenience. There are LOTS of people who refuse to buy new cars/trucks, opting to find older models known to still have replacement parts available. This isn't a new thing — been happening for at least 20 yrs, since the change over from analog to digital. People cut the cord for cable because tv's became unrepairable.
meanwhile me be like: i repair what's broken, i don't ask for a right to repair my own tech,
like nike motto, 'just do it'
Thanks to dedicated ppl like Louis Rossman, this will actually go somewhere
yes.
I did not know the motherboard was like the brain of the laptop. Thank you, ABC. That Louis guy seems trustworthy too! I wonder if he can explain what a PPBUS-G3HOT is.
Apple want us to have safe repair of our iPhones.
On the flip side.
Billy Bob can fix a 2 ton vehicle that can exceed 100mph.

I was born right at the end of the '80s I grew up in the early '90s learning that you have to fix everything and do everything your damn self
I am so sick of them making you have to have other people to get anything done the hell with these people they don't know what they're doing in the first place they just screw up everything
Anyone who plays Apex Legends on controller no you should be able to switch out these joysticks you should have the right to repair anything this is disgusting

Small steps are still progress. We are making progress.
Modern cars are the same way! Built to make it harder to repair yourself!
Now THAT was old school. Keep it coming.
No Louis? Lame.
I know apple can handle this negative light with bull they spread about how they are “trying†but John Deere isn’t going to be able to handle much more, because farmers turn to them for brand loyalty. When their lively hood is jeopardized that brand loyalty fades quickly and green tractors go from family tradition to an enemy.
"some right to repair efforts are overly broad" what a joke
I'm finding more and more reasons to dislike capitalism everyday
$4000 TV CANT BE FIXED BECAUSE YOUR KID CRACKS IT? ITS TO EXPENSIVE TO FIX? WHAT CANT COST $4000 DOLLARS
Why did you all tell Louis Rossmann to delete his recording of the interview? His time and equipment aren’t under your ownership so why?
We are starting to do it with cars. Wait until EVs have dominant market share. Everybody will be devoting their income to some form of upgrade cycle on everything they own. It is guaranteed serfdom.
