I think she met Donald, saw money, prestige, a path to US citizenship & later financial security for her & her son and she jumped at the opportunity like many would. Is she complacent? Perhaps, but I honestly don’t think she has any real power in their relationship. She’s along for the ride and will probably stay with him until she’s assured of hers & her sons future. I think her true love though isn’t her husband, it’s her son (and I mean that in a loving, maternal way). She’ll do what’s best for him whether that means staying with Donald another 5-10 years or what have you.
