  1. Proud graduated student from Eastside- 2000! those were the best year of my life. I heard a lot of Mr. Clark, he made a difference even after he retired.

  2. I remember once in the 80s he said, "Why are all these black schools filled with so much chaos when black people are the MOST conservative people I know?" I fell in love with Joe right then and there.

  3. "You don't have to like me, but you will respect me."
Joe Clark preached reality. He was a hero and a cultural icon who will be dearly missed.
    May he rest in peace.

  4. The best teachers that I ever had in school all had a little bit of Joe Clark in them and I loved them all, simply they cared🙏

  5. This guy had a really hard job but a really hard personality that was very useful in it. I can see why he's a hero. We need more crazy bastards like him.

  6. He's a legend because he didn't give up on black students. Personally from going to school in New York City I can't tell you how many smart black people I met that never tried. They just never tried as much as the white kids, the Hispanic kids or the Asians, but they're just as smart. We need to encourage them to reach their full potential

  7. "If you do not succeed in life i don't want you to blame your parents. I don't want you to blame the white man. I want you to blame yourselves…" -Joe Clark

  8. A clip from the movie was recommended to me today. It was the roof scene. The most memorable part of Lean on Me imo. I remember watching that for the first time in high school and it left an impression on me. A powerful moment that would mostly likely never pass in this current time. It honestly pushed me to do better in school. I need to rewatch this film again
