24. I hate to rain on everyone's parade but we are being sold a bill of goods for green capitalism. wind and solar will not save us. Hydropower emits massive amounts of methane from decaying plant tissue. They all require enormous amount of fossil fuels in production and usage causing enormous environmental damage further destroying the ecosystems we depend on to survive. Farming is on the verge of collapse as top soil is gone and takes 500 years to create 1inch. we have to use crude oil at the tune of 10 calories of oil for every calorie of food to replace the nitrogen. It sucks but the real solution will be deindustrialization and rebuilding the prairie land such as in the Americas that can rapidly sequester the carbon far faster than trees.
