  3. Benjamin Franklin famously advised fire-threatened Philadelphians in 1736 that “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
    When we say that prevention is better than cure, it essentially means that it is better to stop something before it happens instead of having to repair it or deal with its consequences after it has already been done.
    That proverb was applied and practiced in 1736 and it is still relevant today

  9. Quit praying, it's pointless, it doesn't change anything. If you get sick or cancer, you don't go to the Church, you go to the Hospital. Besides if god has a plan prayers are BS.
    I don't know why people can't figure that out.

    When "god did it, or the Devil did it," is the answer for everything, then Scientific inquiry or curiosity is ignored and progress halted. 400 years of the Bubonic plague because people thought it was spread by evil spirits. People had no choice but to practice social distancing because everyone was dead. That's why it ended.

    Before the 1940's, God refused to cure Syphilis. The brain damage and blindness caused by the disease was entirely his will. Then Penicillin was discovered and god changed his Goddamn mind. It's Science, not prayer, that moves the hands of god.

  23. Not something that should happen in a country this wealthy but it is Florida and the US is huge so statistically it was only a matter of time before a negligent build gave up. You people need to move away from wetlands

  28. I'd be scared to work close to the remaining building that was involved in the collapse. It's possible that it could also collapse at any moment
