There is no manual override? They can't send someone out to open/close a valve or turn on a pump? Also, notice the timing of this event – right before summer vacation. Where covid is ending, gas shortages are starting. The destruction of the economy, continues.
This chick was slipping up too much. How do we actually know that this cyber attack happened how would we really know? Maybe it’s just to boost sales supply and demand. Gas was way low during the beginning of the pandemic this might be a way to get that money back up. Just a thought

Working in information security the last 25+ years, the best defense against ransomware is system backups. Who cares if you get attacked by ransomware if you can spend a few hours recovering your systems from back up and bring them back online. If this outfit didn't back up their critical infrastructure system ( which I know is a federal requirement (actually law) for critical infrastructure companies ) then they are neglegent and need to be prosecuted. The fine for this kind of negligence is $1m a day until deficiencies are corrected. Ref. NERC CIPP the law imposed by the FERC, the Federal Energy Regulation Commission. Energy companies are subject to semi-annual audits by federal auditors to identify security vulnerabilities.
