This interviewer is terrible. She allows Pamela Smart to say things that are just patently absurd and cannot possibly be true given previous accounts Pam has provided! Terrible reporting by Juju Chang. I used to like her, but after seeing this series, I realize she's not a journalist at all. Where are the hard-hitting questions that demonstrate your knowledge of the facts of the case? Absent. Shame on Chang for failing so miserably on this series.

I’m not defending Pam whatsoever… now that I’m in my late 30s, I see the boys were babies but she was a toddler. They all were young. She was only 22. No matter what, THEY ALL knew better. U can say she manipulated him but at 16, I knew not to end someone’s life.
My brother was murdered. He was 19 & the other person was 16. The murderer served 6 years. At first, I was angry & I plotted many ways to kill him. But as I got older, I realized something about juveniles.
I lost my uncle to suicide at 13 & I knew he was dead but it wasn’t until my brother died years later before I understood death. It hit me that he’s never ever gonna be here again.
I think underage killers should not serve life sentence HOWEVER, I think they should be bound to community service/restitution – not money, for a long time after. If my bro’s killer got an education, did something positive to help humanity- at the very least, I could heal.
