The Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 is a 9-inch tablet with specs that are very similar to Google’s Nexus 7. So is a similarly spec’d tablet with a larger screen worth spending a few extra bucks? Find out in our review.

I had this tablet back in 2013 and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately its mother board died :/
I have the a 2109 I hate it
I bought my used on Craigslist for $70 because my Acer tablet charge port broke and I needed a tablet. The Lenovo felt a bit more solid, and the charging port seemed to be of better quality, but the tablet is slow and sluggish using the internet and just basic apps, no matter how many cleaning apps I run and freeing up RAM.
The biggest gripe I have about the Lenovo is that the SD card slot is very difficult to access. You have to pull off the little cover in the back of the tablet (where the speakers are located). But that's tricky. I tried prying it off with a paper clip, my fingernail. and finally just pushed at the bottom of the cover and slid it up and out. I was able to locate the micro SD card slot and put a micro SD card in it, but putting the cover back on is nearly impossible. There are little plastic prongs on the cover that are supposed to slid into slots on the tablet body, but it's tricky. I had to grab a larger Sharpie marker and just forcefully tap on the top side of the cover in order for it to go back into place. Even then, the little plastic lens cover that covers the tablet's camera lens seemed to keep the back cover from sliding on. Just make sure you really want that micro SD card in the tablet, because it's not going to be easily accessible if you're lucky enough to get the cover back on.
I dont know how install the microsd. Anyone can help me?
Don't but it because it breaks like the first week u have it
I got it online at future shop for about $145 including tax it was $130 without tax and was 70$ off. I haven't gotten it yet but I think I will like it alot
This is the same
i have this tablet and it works just fine
I think is better than nexus7 2012 …
i had mine but after a week the screen is not working
nice vid anyway
Can that tablet get nba 2k13 on google play
There really arent many, if any, better than this that are 9 inch
Amazon reviews always talk about viewing angle; which could be very relevant since I would be likely to lay the unit down, much as with magezine, paper calendar, or paper time table. Why was this not demonstrated. As my main uses would likely be web (including PDF browsing) and as a VNC terminal for my desktop, I'm disappointed these were not covered as well — the the effect of angle or resolution is the main thing I wanted to see demonstrated visually. Why was it not!?!
nice video
had mine for 3 months and loving it
This Lenovo it's a great little tablet. I was also considering a nexus 7 but the lack of SD card turn me off. The extra 2 inches of screen are very nice way better than a7 inch in my opinion.
Don't buy this
Just ordered one from office depot. I selected this over nexus 7…because of the 9 inch screen,… Hdmi port… Which I used a lot… But mostly for the Sd card slot. I like the idea of being able to expand storage. Extra storage is a big plus for music lovers. Tablet cost 229.00 free shipping.. Plus 20.00 for tax. It's like the nexus 7, with the extras some of us really want.
watching the video on the tablet
the sound quality from his mic makes it sound like he commented over himself in post production, amazing.
Good review,
I bought it over the nexus 7, because it has an hdmi out and I like that you can expand the memory with a micro SD card. I played with the nexus and I didn't notice a night and day difference in video screen quality. They both don't stack up well in screen clarity to an iPad but they're both fine. I think it really comes down to … Do you like the bigger screen or the easier to hold nexus 7.
Again the hdmi and memory expansion were the two reasons I purchased this over the nexu
i like the fact it has a bit of weight, the acer tab in comparrison feels fragile
Omg I Have it and it's just amazing no lags 🙂 and true Jellybean is on :3
I bought this Tablet and I love it. Lenovo did push out on upgrade for Jellybean. It has expanded memory which the video here missed!
I should also mention that the Nexus 7 has no ability to output HDMI as an MHL adapter will not work with it.
While touring around the exterior of the tablet you missed the micro SD card slot. It is located beneath the small panel that also houses the speakers. Office Depot currently has the unit priced at $230. The expandable memory slot and the HDMI slot made me think twice about the 32GB Nexus 7 that I recently also picked up at Office Depot for $230.
I priced matched with office depot and got it at bestbuy for $229
Okay, so you point is…. oh yeah "it's ugly"?
It looks quite ugly the chrome lenovo branding looks quite tacky not a tab I would consider because it's quite ugly.
You are one rich guy! Considering spreading love by donating some tabs… 😛
Looks in sync to me…
Are u guys going to review the nexus 4
this tab looks good
I purchased the tablet from Best Buy. I already have an Asus t300 as my workhorse tablet. I bought this one for my music primarily. I paid 259 for it and my only gripe with it is the viewing angles due to the non ips panel. I plan on purchasing both the Nexus 7 for work and the Nexus 10 for movie and magazine viewing. I like it because its one of the only tablets at this price points with micro USB, HDMI, and an micro SD card slot. to me…if it wasn't for the bad screen, it would be
It seems like the sound and video aren't synced properly…
Khá ngon
Was never too much of a fan of lenovo products. Vid out of sync slightly?
It takes SD-card though. The backwardsfacing camera is good for scanning documents/tickets/bills etc which is a must for me, something the Nexus 7 lacks.
