Macro mode is not based on software, you need auto-focus which depends on a specific hardware to change the depth of field.
No
Wireless charging is so overrated and not good for your battery
I have the pixel 8 and it sucks. I'm really thinking about switching to iphone 😢
Would not have expected to see Baltimore as the backdrop for this test!
I bought 3 … pix 8 pro for $400 each at spectrum… just flat out paid for them… not sure why people just don't get the best right away.
Pixel 8 doesn't work on tracfone.
Once the 8a goes on sale, it’ll hands down be the better value. I much prefer the plastic matte back, flat camera bar and more vibrant colors on the 8a over the 8. Even now though, I’m not sure the 8 is worth $200 more than the 8a with most all of the same setup and features.
let's be honest – a phone is good but you need all day battery. I used a compact phone the s23 then a Xiaomi 12 until I got mad about the battery life and then I got myself an s24 U. Very happy with it. And not only about the battery, but it got to the point where I was keeping my phone very close to my eyes just to see something.
As usual, the market has corrected prices, with Google now offering $100 store credit along with a generous trade in value for customers who wish to avoid the hassle of Ebay. So for me the net net price of the 8a was just $220 plus taxes. Since I am a Mint customer, the unlocked price is the same as a locked phone (for those who like to pay more to one of the Big 3) vs the competition, which often charges more for unlocked versions. Put another way, my monthly cost is $21.11 (including Mint service charges) assuming the phone cost is amortized over 3 years which is typical of the usual phone company contract.
It's a joke from Google with price tag of $500.
Watching from my Pixel 8a which i just bought it today. Puts a wide smile on me. 😉
The image quality difference in your video sample leans SIGNIFICANTLY in the Pixel 8's favor

I mean it still depend on price both can go down overtime.
This is good information being provided, but I need the presenter to have some life. It’s like he’s reading the website as a weird form of a tech nerd hostage video.
I've had a Pixel 2, 5, and now 7 Pro. The 7 is the worst phone ive had in some time. Its already been replaced by Google once for screen dimming issues, that this one has again. Plus other issues. I'm hoping the 9 is a banger.
The actual question you should be asking is, is there a flagship pixel phone? and is it flagship with an Exynos CPU. As a pixel 7 pro user entire pixel phones are pure garbage. Bullsheed waste of money.
i think he meant to say the 8a is the better value…
otherwise that last sentance doesnt really make sense
Wait for discount for the 8a. If you need to buy it now then go get the pixel 8 which can be found on discount.
This is shadey, they're basically selling you the same exact phone.
it used to be that the strenght of the A series was "having the same camera as the flagship but with a little bit less processing power" which meant that the A series was the best camera phone to buy if you were not interested in having more fancy features. It also used to be the phone for people that wanted a phone that actually fits in the hands.
Now we have a phone with worse cameras, same dimentions, and almost the same price…..not to mention the fact that most custom Gcam mods tailor the main sensor of the main pixel to make pictures less fake, less oversharpened, less noisy, etc… so if the A series does not have the same camera array then it just cannot benefit from the same development effort that the commuity does for the main phones. I jenuinely think that we need a real "A phone" with a significantly smaller screen and pocketable form factor (5.5" for example) and the same camera array of the flagship.
Then we need an "A pro" that has the same camera array of the "pro" but with the pocketable screen size of 5.5".
On a similar topic, the camera bump is idiotic. Just put a bigger battery and make the back flat, the pixel phones nowadays last less than an iPhone which is embarassing.
Finally modularity has to be brought back: it should be illegal to have soldered ports and difficul to replace components.
Pixel 6 now for 250usd
i was gonna grab the 8a but this weird blue camera bar really throws me off
Unless you take a lot of telephoto pictures which I do, The pixel 8 is great value. Especially when you buy one on sale.
i have the 8 came from a Redmi note 7 won't be buying a new phone for a while now
I do not want a phone thank you but no thanks
