@Hashmountain My net worth is 1.5 dollars.
unless you're berry..
He really worked his way hard to get up to that level though. and the 6:1 return is greatly inflated because of all the failed auctions they don't air that's not as good TV as landing a great find.
Dave has advantage from moving crew because he can offer to junk the remains of the lockers that people don't want and sometimes they overlook it. Or he can also offer to take on the costs of moving everything and of putting whatever items people want on consignment at his store and splitting profits. He can pawn a lot of items off of other's auctioneers that may have trouble selling some things. These guys have lots of connections too to the right people that can give them free appraisals.
Dave claimed to have grossed a million dollars in sales in storage wars unlocked. They also claimed that he got a 6:1 return which is twice as good as everyone else. So if he turned over everything that means he spent about 166,666.67 in a year or 13,888 a month. But actually he probably spent a bit more because he probably didn't turnover everything. He also hires moving crew. What's more, The film crew follows them and doesn't air everything. I don't have a clue how much more he spends.
Dave is a better businessman. He can move his product and get a better price selling it retail vs wholesale. Plus whenever Dave sees Daryl bidding, Dave knows that it's worth more than he initially thought. Dave squeezes Daryl's margin, Daryl doesn't get into that as much. It's like poker and Daryl plays the "cards" and relies on his knowledge too much, Dave plays the "man" and always bids his opponents up to the max and only goes past it when he sees something they don't.
