I grocery shop at night too! I always pay for mine though. I’ve been doing it wrong all these years? 😳. I suppose if they don’t get sick, it’s all good. That Officer has milk trauma.
This is the cheapest grocery shopping I ever seen
He so right it should be given to poor omfg awful waste
I had a car just like this one. Nice comfortable and reliable. Sure hate seeing all that trash in it.
This video just made me depressed 😂
I'd be worried about the meat
Ever watch Bar Rescue…the food they serve is gross…..The food he’s getting from the dumpster is better.
Too bad they can’t donate that food…
Episode should have been called Crusty Lid
Most of it is just fine. I wouldn't take the meat and milk, even though you can smell if it is bad. Concerning the meat, make sure to cook and fry it profoundly.
Mmmmm. Milk crust
Why not just load it up and take it to the food banks?
It's disgusting how wasteful western society is.
Cool cops……let the men eat!
That cops throws out milk because of "crust around the lid". Does he not know that's just dried milk?? Oh the dumb is thick.
This man has it all figured out lol
Some people's treasures.
Anyone else feeling uncomfortable about how those perfectly good food being thrown away? I mean the store has to discard them cuz at least some of those are bad but, this episode is gonna be a bit of a thinker for me.
That cops a douchebag
I wish I could find a store near me that threw away it's beer and booze once it got past it's "fresh" date.
This guy is just trying to get by on low income and it's sad he has to resort to dumpster diving for food, but at least it's Food and not a meth addiction.
Cool cop, in the UK the guy would have been arrested.
He’s clearly never been in a do or die situation
solution: boil the milk long enough to kill disease than refrigerate for safe, subpar meat.
What are you Americans putting in milk to make it last 3 weeks? 😂
Max I'll go is a week past the expiration date unless I can safely freeze it. I agree on dairy though, the moment it hits that expiration date its gone whether I drank/ate it all or not.
That one cop is pretty serious about his milk
What it interesting here is that with all the red tape around donating food, most businesses actually do just throw stuff out at the end of the day, it's less trouble for them that way. I have worked for plenty of them and have seen it all. I used to make all the "waste" food with my manager and we would go out back and give it to all of the homeless people waiting back behind the store for it. Otherwise it would just get thrown out so why not? You run into trouble when word gets out and normal people try to take advantage. That's why a lot of grocery stores throw their food out in a locked dumpster, so people can't dumpster dive. What's messed up is that grocery stores intentionally buy excess food to subconsciously get you, the consumer, to buy more than you need, which in turn makes you overweight, crave food more and then continue to buy excess food. Every store has metrics that track these things and much more.
When I dived, I got: organic peanut butter, 3 mon before "best by"; boxes of granola 1 mon to "best by"; afternoon delivery bagels the next morning. Friend who worked at store told me they toss stuff to make room on the shelves for new product. It's criminal the amount of food waste that happens.
I was a manager for Albertsons in college, every store I was ever in had a secure trash compactor. There’s literally no way to dumpster dive without risking your life by going into a compactor…
Cops now a days but this is in a grey zone lol
Well you’re Technically working while but you’re not breaking the law so I will let you go
We're done! Lmao
i love how chill the cops were. good guys. and man in the dumpster, good luck! all that stuff for free…pretty smart.
My new life motto.
Once there's crust around the lid, we're done.
all milk is good if youre brave enough
I've had milk that is over a week past the sale date and it's fine. It if passes the sniff test there's nothing wrong with it. Now I will draw the line if it's room temperature. But if it's always been refrigerated there's no problem.
I agree w homeboy! I won’t touch milk if it’s a week til it expires
Good policing
He's right, more people should do this. Happy hunting
This guy sounds like Eddie Van Halen
Milk is pretty gross in any case
2:12 excuse me officer the dumpsters are never rolled to the street
