Exploring An ABANDONED PRISON FORT!!

This is the last video from the Honeymoon. And we did something really awesome on our last day in Key West. We went exploring an old abandoned prison fort that is supposedly haunted and has some really crazy history. Hope you enjoy!!! And wait until you see what I found in the water surrounding this prison fort…

  1. Thank you all for rockin with me during everything! This is the last video from our trip to Key West. And I really hope you enjoy it! Also special thanks to Dave and Cody for holding things down while I was away. I’m back now and we’re getting ready to get back to some classic APS for July!

  2. Thanks for the content Joe!!!!! I always was interested in exploring this prison when I lived in Haines City Fla. I'm so appreciative of the work you did on this video!!!! Hope you and your wife have a great year!!!!!! 🤜💥🤛✌️🤙👌👍

  3. Nice I'm watching this video late but love these old places imagine the Craziness that went on there being in the Prison or working there!

  4. Late comment but those arcs you saw on the floor you thought were for bars are not what those actually are. I'm a little rusty on my old school fort engineering so you'll have to forgive me but they are either one of two possible things.

    1) Rails were placed on them so the cannons could be swiveled for aiming. In essence you could run the cannon on a rail and by moving the back it gave you the ability to point the cannon. Obviously this is something you want on a fixed fortification gun.

    2) They also could have been patricians which were meant to keep explosions and incursions confined to one cell (not the prison kind of cell but where the cannon is located) in the event there was an accident or an enemy round may have blown the wall in. Obviously you don't want a shit ton of bricks and shrapnel flying at everyone who is scurrying about back there so you would rather just loose one gun or gun crew versus having a potential chain reaction or more damage elsewhere in the fort.

All that being said old forts are cool as shit. There is actually a surprising amount of forethought, planning, engineering, and craftsmanship that went into building them. Unfortunately as technology advanced and warfare changed they became obsolete. Even coastal guns are a thing of the past with the exception of a few countries in southeast asia that still have some old U.S. ones.

  5. I think you and your wife should travel and do more outside APS, your enthusiasm is great and your great talking to the camera. APS is good but it not really for everyone and your a everyone kinda guy, and your wifes low key balances it all out.

  6. Joe, you need to hit up Mansfield prison. Shawshank Redemption was filmed there and it was, at one time, a notorious prison. It’s really cool!

  7. That would be cool if they developed that place into studio apartments .. So big you can drive your Ferrari into your living room .. only thing is you need to take a plane ride to get groceries and there is kind of nothing to do on the island.

  8. The studs on the floor weren't for bars and the windows didn't have bars actually they were cannon ports and the studs were were tracks so they could angle the canons were so they couldnrotate them that's why the are half circles the barrel of the canon would stick out the windows

  9. That's where the expression comes from "your name is as good as mud" check out the movie national treasure with Nicolas cage he even mentions it in the movie

  10. What an Awesome day trip. My 2nd Ex-Wife & i we’re Married on the Beach in Jamaica. And spent 4 days snorkeling and free diving. I love it! I collected Conch and got to spear fish and took it back to our 5 ⭐️ resort and cooked it on our beach over a fire 🔥. It definitely was the best week in my life. I know exactly what you are saying about seeing your wife for the first time on my wedding day. I seen her walking down the Beach and couldn’t stop crying till after we were married. I love her to this day. It all changed for her I reckon???
I still have a cordial relationship with her. Then after 9 years…All she said was “ Larry I just don’t wanna be Married any more “ I wish y’all all the luck in the world!!!

  11. Major props to you and your wife for letting us go with you guys on your honeymoon. Very cool and I'm grateful 😊👍❤️

  12. Love the vids but you guys need to adjust your audio more, it's the same on every single video, music is way, way, way too loud compared to Joe speaking.

  13. You were in Fla for 2 weeks and only saw that one cactus?!?!?! …and hth u never seen a cavtus?!? Lmao. Oh well, I ain't never seen snow, so…

    🙀😁😆

  14. I really need to finish the van build and go to the ocean. Thanks for sharing this. Van builds were about all I was looking at that summer.

  15. Haha man joe would be A sick person to go on vacation with. Although it would be annoying being w a youtuber that won’t put the camera down🤣 but thanks for the footage very cool.
