Why Everyone HATES Cheap Maaco Paint Jobs… BUT Shouldn’t!

It’s time for paint on the cheap Jaguar S-Type R! Maaco can sometimes get a bad rap for their cheap paint job; but it’s really an amazing value comparatively especially if you do your own prep.

  1. Just realize it all depends on the area, @autoactionrebuilds has had cheap paint jobs in the Oklahoma macco area, just look at the Most recent car, the Tempo. 400 bucks, never going to be perfect but shi, looks better than how it came in.

  2. Y’all funny talking about it’s cheap. There was nothing cheap about the price I was quoted.

  3. I hate on maaco because they tried to scam me for 400 dollars until i noticed. Also not to mention all the paint came off because they sprayed right over the clear coat with no prep or sanding. And dont get me started on the amount of overspray on EVERYTHING!

  4. Agree that British Racing Green doesn't look right on this car. Silver would be nice, and has widespread appeal. White would also work and is good for hiding imperfections. A good choice with a cheaper paint job.

  5. Yeah maaco can paint jobs can look "good", but the prepwork the do is probably rubbish and the quality of the refinish materials is most likely terrible aswell. So within a year, the paint will probably flake off.

  6. It's easy explain how the interior of the bmw got sprayed white – they have the doors open while spraying the door jambs – If you want a better job, do all the prep yourself, remove ALL trims and mask as much as you can…..make, or should I say 'Maaco,' it as easy for them to do a good job, as possible – however remember, they are in the habit of working fast and no being too picky, so don't expect too much – there's a reason body shops charge so much. If you wanta great job, pay for one

  7. My friend's mom got a Macco color change on her truck. I pulled up to their house and from the other side of the street I could tell it was crap. When I walked past it, about 15-20 away, I prepared myself for seeing a pissed off Ma when I walked in. But no, she thought it was beautiful so I just kept my mouth shut and let her enjoy it. I bought a car that had a fairly recent "top of the line" Macco job. It was an ok 20 footer, but nowhere near as good as factory.
