Cold? What? It's minus 40 where I am. Looking forward to minus 10 so I can put the shorts back on.
Spotted this one Sam https://www.facebook.com/100011743885671/posts/590152134719577/
Did you ever determine why the Corvette so low on oil initially? I have now heard it run and it kicks ass. It must have passed smog so it ain't burning gobs of oil. Just a curiosity for me. btw I use the exact same oil in my 2001 Miata. Race you anytime…
Does anybody else out there know that oil is cheaper at Home Depot then it is at AutoZone or Pep Boys or Advance Auto like $10 cheaper per 5
I feel where you are coming from with staying away from “stealerships!†I just recently had to replace my crank shaft sensor. The part $85 after the final cost to get it installed and programmed $530 ☹ï¸Â.
The problem with Copart is that people seem to take parts off cars waiting for auction. I wonder who takes these parts.
Thats a stroke of luck
the same guy that stole
the ecm from the vette
is gonna sell it back
and for a decent price
Come on Sam I want to see this thing run.
Probably won’t start you will need to reprogram the key fobs for the anti theft system which is part of the ecm
Dealership or mobile locksmith can do it
Ddi you contacting the Bodyshop to see if they still had the computer?
What the name of the outro music?
Samvrac when your done with the corvette how about a kit car like a vaydor g35
I agree with you that staying away from the stealership parts and service departments is nearly always the best idea (although I must admit that I do take our newest car in the fleet back to the dealership twice a year for tire service, but that is only because that sort of work is “fastlane†and the price is competitive plus I would rather spend the hour wait time looking at new and used cars instead of sitting in a tire store or repair shop waiting room watching Fox news, and the coffee at the dealership is deluxo and free). I am dreading going back to the dealership to order a new ignition tumbler for the slowly failing one in my BMW e36 but I want the use my existing key and, as far as I can tell, my options are one or none, so goodbye $200.00! I do understand that their overhead is higher because of their staff and their cost associated with their real estate, but sadly, too many of them would still rip you off if their overhead was 0!
It does not take 2-3 minutes to program an ecm. Trust me. I do these types of programmings and depending on the car you have to wait from 15-25 minutes. And that is not including the time it takes to program the key fob back into the car. And they do have to download and install software into the ecm. Dealership isnt wrong on that, but the price they charge is outrageous. Get a local locksmith that has a Tech 2 scanner with GM software to go out and reprogram a used or new ecm. I usually charge $120 to do this. I have never had the pleasure of doing a corvette so idk how long these usually take.
Crazy to think that my Cadillac STS has the exact same push to start switch
ACU out of florida will sell you a programmed ECU I have used them in the past. Auto computer exchange.
Swap the pizza car engine into the corvette
is it time to engine swap the pizza car?
Still a mystery why no oil in engine
So cold? You're wearing a t-shirt at the end o.O the struggle is real!
what camera you using?
I’m trying to do more work on my own and I want oem parts my dealer is charging 50 for an air filter where do u get oem parts for your rebuilds I try to stay with oem or parts I know
That high mileage oil makes your gaskets and seals leak. I would have used the cheap conventional oil.
