I'm doomed…..
when car dealers order from japan they're asked how much they want the miledge to read
I don’t mind taking my car to get fixed the problem is mechanics like what you mentioned makes people not wanna fix their cars and just let them fall apart… and the good mechanics are hidden and overwhelmed with their own costumers…is a shame
Sam crack
It’s super easy to roll back any cluster on Honda’s from 1990-2000 for one several clusters from any of those models are plug n play with other models I have a 98 crv cluster in my 98 civic 96-2001 crv clusters are plug n play in 96-2000 civics same with em1 clusters and the Acura el clusters also to change the miles on the clusters is easy take the speedometer apart and pop the small bar for mileage numbers and then just move it to where you want it
We just bought a coach from Prevost dealer with 700K miles, turned to be 1.2 million miles. Carfax shows registratiin of the coach but no milage at all…will go to media tomorrow.
The Ferrari is a Honda ?
Here in the uk most some cars don’t even have 100 thousand miles
Actually dealerships have much less ability to check sub-systems mileage. Take FoMoCo for example…. I've encountered a 2020 F250 Diesel where if you used IDS and looked at everything the odometer mileage was okay, BUT when you use a particular aftermarket diagnostics interrace I can see the mileage on the ECM of when a questimable ocuurance happened (fried IPC replacement) … People really have no idea just how many places the engine hours and odometer values are actually logged in today's vehicles… the radio, the rear view mirror, the headrests, etc etc…. On some cars these all have modules and can keep a tally of usage. Folks, it's just not worth this type fraud; well I say that but I guess if you blew your Duramax up outside of warranty it would be worth the few hundred dollars to get it back within warranty mileage and get thousands and thousands of dollars worth of repairs done for free….
But wait what if someone rolled back the miles then sells it to you, and you sell it and get blamed for that?
How do they know if they did swap the engine out
Just bought a car fax report for $40 on a 2005 odyssey… seller rolled back 115k miles.
If you properly maintain your car, mileage shouldn't be a problem.
Dealerships. The profit is greater on financed vehicles and can mean more down and longer loan.
Hey Samcrac, is there a site to check if a dealership is known to be shady, with like real reviews and stuff?? we got some great deals on cars out here at certain kinds of dealerships that just sound to good to be true and i want to check on them? thanks in advance…..
Re: Digital odometers…. Changing instrument cluster will not change miles. Mileage is stored in ECM, change cluster and will get the same mileage.
He was joking whe he said drive it backwards to remove miles.
🤢
I dont look at miles!!!
I'm in the UK and I always put the reg into Facebook and it brings up pics and post with the reg in
Most of the people rolling back the odometer here in Florida are usually from some other country and they just don't care or abide by our laws . Had a dealer in Tampa try this on me , I went back with my gun and got my money back. Dude was lucky he didn't eat some led . Gainesville Florida has a pile of crooked dealers , buyer beware.
Dont believe car fax I have seen cars change colors, or milage flip… best is plug in a real computer and read it their. Also look at conditions but understand games are played there. I saw hot shots run it to around 40k. Then buy another instrument cluster, use it. Now interior easy new driverseat and save original. You cant hide mechanical signs but quick trade or sell and most dont catch it. You'll see more diesel trucks as they are used to run high miles. I also prefer high mileage using highway miles plus it shows it wasnt the mechanics buddy. Funny enough I do my own repairs and maintenance. Yet the dealers have me as shop as with ag use etc. I keep a large number and my trucks are certified. Carfax says uh it recieved nothing but if u look they are all done by oem parts and fresh fluids. They'll be weird Mark's with paint pen changed at 36k and date. Then next time…
My 1988 ford f 150 started from 00000 after 100,000 miles it was the 5.0 with postive rear diff idk if that had anything to do with it
Selling my 2021 Porsche with 300,000 miles.
Am I doing this right?
I bought a 2019 Toyota Corolla and the mileage were rolled back. I didn't buy it.
Is there some countrys in the world hat would put those thieves to death ? , or cut their hands off ??
I have to admit that I did it once on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. It was quite easy, I simply unplugged a module and it ran fine, just didn't know the speed limit while driving. After a few miles I reconnected it.
