#DarkMatterPikachu’s Cylinder Heads #FairmontProject

For those of you not aware, the engine in my #FairmontProject has a name, #DarkMatterPikachu. Here’s how it got that name.

This is another video in the Engine Series for the #FairmontProject. In this installment we go over the modifications made to the X302 cylinder heads I used. These are the same cylinder heads I got from the parts Mustang. Kevin did find one bent valve in addition to the work he mentioned in the video. I’m not surprised based on what I saw during the teardown.

You can watch the tear down here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7qHlmKzWG0

There will also be a video on the enlargement of the stud holes which I will link here after it’s posted:

  1. I really don't like how you're milking this car project. Every video on Hot Rod Magazine's channel shows a finished car. If the car's done, you should show people the finished car. I don't really care about the Fairmont anymore. I just unsubscribed.

  2. Honestly – I watched your video on why you named your car dark matter pikachu, but whenever you post a video referring to your Fairmont by that name I end up automatically skipping it. I had to force myself to watch a few of them. It's like reverse click bait. The name and the reason behind it is too much of an inside thing – I'd consider changing up your titles – maybe leaving the hashtag out of the title and just referring to it in your video itself.

  3. It is really cool to watch and absolute expert, a specialist, work. From Scanner Danner to Paul (I'm going to F-up the spelling here) Cangialosi..

  4. I'm curious as to how the valves will seal and not hit each other. it looks like he overdid it on the valve job…

  5. I would've cringed if the machinist said "Let's knurl those guides". I hate it when shops do that…even on NEW guides!

  6. I find it strange that folks actually try to machine down the head surface, to match the gasket! It's kinda like making the road surface to match the tire, or make the weather match your roofing shingles! I hope I can find get a dog, to match the dog food I buy!!

  7. Eric hello, Ive been watching your vids as they are very informative, straight forward and easy to understand, Im working on a 99 audi a4 2.8l and planing on changing the head gastket but dont know if the pistons or the rings are good. Is there a way to check the pistons and rings etc without having to take out the whole engine. Im just learning and this will be my first project car, thx.
