This cabin air filter replacement video will apply to the first generation Ford Edge models.
It’s a simple process and doesn’t require a lot of tools. It can also save you a great deal of money replacing this maintenance item yourself. Not to mention it will help keep the air inside your vehicle free from contaminants.
The average replacement interval is every 15K, sometimes as low as 10K based on the air quality where the vehicle is being used.

Nicely done! It's been a while since I changed mine, and I forgot how to remove it. Thanks!
This does not apply to the 2014 Ford Edge.
My 14' has white pins that must be removed. Not sure this guy knows
Simple & easy. BTW, you can also easily remove the damper cord to avoid damaging it (it's on key hole mount) 😉
my heater is not working in my 2014 ford edge. any suggestions?
The same work is in the Marquis or differs
excellent !
Changed filter, checked coolant, still no heat in my 2013 Ford Edge. Now what? kg
I remove all of my cabin air filters, because in the winter, they restrict defrost air flow to the windshield, and It takes forever to defrost. In the summer they cut the flow, of cool A/C air, to my hot body. I think this is just another worthless replacement part, Detroit, want's us to buy.
thanks I got my licence a year ago and got my dads ford edge last sunday when he got a new car the air was cold but it didn't blow air out and the screen was covered in dust it hadn't been cleaned ever
I found that on my wife's 2013 I didn't have to remove the glove box, just emptied it and took off the clip holding the cable to give me plenty of room for replacing the filter.
I just replaced my cabin air filter today on my 2011 Ford Mustang and it has almost 80,000 on it and it had never been changed
What the hell is that stupid screen supposed to do? Do you know why it doesn't it have a real filter from the factory? That big ass screen won't filter out jack.
Nifty!
Holy moly! Something you can do to a Ford without having to take it to a dealer.
Just to clarify the models. 2007-2010 are 1st Generation Edges. 2011 through 2014 are known by Ford as the 1.5 Refresh. The 2015+ are the official 2nd Generation Edge. The air filter of the 1.5 and 2.0 share similar builds. The 1st Gen is different. So this concept the above statement that it covers the models 2006 through 2014 is incorrect. Also even though it says above model 2006 there is no such thing as a 2006 Ford Edge. All production models made were tagged 2007, production actually began in Oct of 2006 for the model year 2007. +ericthecarguy where are you in this video? looks like something from Dexter.
They not make various washable replacement filters that will filter out pollen etc. This filter does not filter out pollen (the screen filter) The one Eric used is a pollen filter. They also make activated charcoal filters to filter out odors from around you while driving.
What does the damper do?
The audio jump was quite interesting at 1:05. "But we will be installing artulture today"
So we don't need the screen anymore?
It only applies to that model year. Different access for model years after that. 2011 and up are different and require removal of pins and the cord damper is on the left side. Might want to change the models you are refering to on this video. I know I have multiple video on this for the 2008 and 2011 model years. Like your videos though. So do not take this wrong. Just want to be sure people understand things change with the model years as they adjust. MACTFORDEDGE on youtube.
so you replaced that screen with an air filter? right?
