This Toyota Camry was purchased for only a few hundred dollars. It is going through the process of being repaired now; but do you think it is really worth it?

TOYOTA CAMRY IS TRASH EVEN IN THE NEXT CENTURY. I HAVE ONE 2020 CAMRY AND I DONT SEE THE DAY. TO GET RID OF .
I have a 2017 police interceptor sport it has an ecoboost and it has frame rail damage right and left the car inside is immaculate and only the steering wheel air Bag went off it has 60 k miles the rest of car paint is beautiful blue I am asking your advice do you think this car is worth fixing . i have seen front clips on ebay for around 3k . ps I did pay 1,900 for the car in auction. if I could I would send you pics I would .
Such an easy and cheap repair. What a dumb ass. Pull a rail off another car buy a new core support and apron and your done. Fucking idiot
ANYTHING can be fixed. It becomes more and more expensive when done right (using proper tools and parts) and becomes real costly when you're being ripped off (by most/many) from being over-charged (remember the issue with Tesla).
I would like too know what is too much damage? And where the line would be on buying a wrecked car.
Videos like this are perfect for beginners like me
I would buy it to part it out
200$?
It's probably worth more than that in scrap…
Even if it isn't… It's 200$
In Mexico…
That's called minor damage
just part it out!!! save time and money
so anyone gonna point out that that the rail has already been torched and pulled?
It's not worth it to fix. It doesn't matter if someone give it to you for free.
I wouldn't repair it but I would part it.
Sure the car isn't gonna be as safe as it would be with factory welds, or undamaged frame. But for $200 heck why not? I mean the headlights and fender gap won't line up for shit but it's still a decent car if it's in good mechanical shape and you don't spend too much putting it back together.
I would not buy, even though it looks like the damage is in one place, it might be further down a frame rail or in other parts of the body…
You know these newer cars there is no body on frame any more, its all one peace. smash a soda can…
That is the crumple zone, it is an integral part of the car. So when you're in a front end collision it absorbs all the energy, never ever should you cut, weld, or messed with it in any way. Don't touch it.
Any vehicle with frame damage should have to be repaired correctly or shouldn't be allowed on the road
Only worth fixing with a doner car for parts.
I work at the factory where this car was likely built, in the department where those components are put together. That seam you are pointing at saying to cut and splice there, that is not the seam in the structural part. The structural part is on the inner side of the frame rail and is about two feet longer. Repairing that and the inner fender (apron) correctly would be very time consuming. Can it be done? Yes. Can it be done safely? Yes. Is it likely to be done safely and correctly? No. It's just not worth it on that old car. Part it out and move on.
Frame Damage = No Buy !
Find a blown up Camry and swap the engine out of that one or sell it the 2gr and transmission is worth 2500 bucks
Actually in that car you can make some money, unlike your money pit jetta, parts are cheap and available, if the car is clean title, low miles and the rest in good shape . I do rebuild cars for hobby, not just for profit, and sometimes I keep some of them for a while.

It really depends, if you buy it cheap enough and the drive train is in good condition it might be worth finding a clean title Camry with a blown engine swap engines and move on.
It's trash junk it I would never feel safe in that. I can't believe someone bought it.
this one depends more on the title. insurance on a salvaged vehicle is often difficult & expensive.
It's toast. This Camry is a parts car.
