I’m a Toyota guy but the rb sounds better. I’d always pick the 1j dollar for dollar because I’m poor and can’t afford to build an RB to make it do what a stock 1j can
i prefer the rb although at low end it pops so much
Chaser as is sounds better than rb, but if that rb would run perfectly, it would have more of a chance.

Not too sure what sounds better…I love the Chaser as it has a smooth sound, but love the raspiness of the Skyline

I love the 2JZ more than the RB if I was buying an engine, but I prefer the rasp of the RB25. More gutteral. But maybe I could just fix that with an exhaust on my Supra. Thanks for the comparison because I've been R32 shopping recently and most have RB26s.

I think it has a lot to do with the exhaust but the 32 just sounds too raspy. The JZ sounds beautiful.

RB sounds way better imo more raw and raspy, JZs are such good engines just always sound like they're breathing through a straw probably better on the street lol

Honestly, i like the chaser way more than the skyline. Although i think the chaser sounds better than the skyline on partial throttle but the RB wide open is way nicer sounding than the chasers WOT. Once you smooth out the rest of the table on the skyline no doubt it'll be nicer than the chaser all around.
