Hot Rod Magazine’s “Drag Week” is the yearly test and trial of what can define a street car, and how far the limitations of technology can be pushed! Considered the world’s most GRUELING street car challenge, participants willingly indulge in a hellish week plagued with stresses and failures to prove the worth of their build against others. Starting at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA for Drag Week 2018, competitors were required to not only make passes each day and turn in their best time, but they MUST drive their car and any tools or special parts required to fix them to and from each drag way. In 2018, competitors started in Atlanta, GA, and drove to Darlington, SC ► Charlotte, NC ► Bristol, TN, and back to Atlanta, GA to complete the near 1,000 mile journey to determine the validity of what they consider a TRUE street car!

  5. Happy to see I am still slipping into the background {8:56) of some heavily watched 1320video videos. Not my finest moment pulling up my race pants but I assure you I had shorts on underneath.
    this day changed my 2018 drag week experience and eventually led me to being razor close to making my first 9.9x pass in my pump gas 10.3:1 compression 496. Current best was 10.06 at 133.
    In the pits I swapped fitech plumbing to carb + regulator and rewired my fuel pump so I can alternate between carb and EFI . The placement of my 02 bungs necessitated that I switch to the carb to go open headers. My car picked up .35 and .37 seconds of ET in back to back comparisons from full exhaust to open header. I went from not being in the field of 32 after day 3 a Zmax to top 25 by the final day with a 10.64 average. Best ET of the week was an open header pass on the final day in Atlanta, 10.40.

  25. even breaking down and not finishing you can see they had fun, thats the best kind of challenge, the toughest one you can find because its truly a challenge.
