Coyote Powered 900hp AC Cobra- ZERO TRACTION

Carroll Shelby’s vision for the AC Cobra has lived on through Originals and Replica cars alike. Back Draft Racing carry’s on the Shelby legacy and vision through their replica cars they build, and we LOVE seeing these awesome machines tearing up the strip! Having some fun at Pike Peaks Airstrip Attack presented by Shift Sector, this AC Cobra Replica with a STOUT Coyote engine put on a show as it struggled for traction. The Coyote power plant had some help from a Whipple Supercharger and some Nitrous that made sliding around between gears on the airstrip of Colorado Springs Airport in Colorado Springs, CO!

  1. I had a superformance sp268 392 Windsor 505 at the rear wheels burn tires off at 80 mph almost as fun as a extra 330 stunt plane

  2. Found a few Cobras that were 13-18K. They had about 30-70K miles on them. Usually I see them at $65-90K. Any reason why they would be that low? Is it the miles

  3. I have an old Cobra story…my late father was a Sales Manager at our local Ford dealer in Orlando, Fl. for several years in the 60's and I heard him tell this story many times over the years…A local dentist walks in
and says he'd like to buy a 427 Cobra and requests a test drive. My Dad queries him about his driving background and describes the 289 Cobra and the 427 Cobra and suggests they go on a test drive in the 289..the dentist is firm that he wants to buy the 427 and says he wants to test drive the 427…so my Dad gets the car and they go on a spirited test drive.when
they get back to the shop, the dentist is looking pretty shaken and agrees that yeah maybe l should consider and test drive the 289 after all..to which my dad announced… THAT was the 289. (I posted this because the other guy that has the top comment butchered the story. This is what it should be like 👍🏻)

  4. I don’t care what it actually does, it is 960 horses in 2,400 pounds of car, Bugatti needed to make special tires for the Veyron at 1000 horses, but this doesn’t even need new tires because it’s so light! Shelby would be proud.

  5. 900 bhp is clearly too much for this chassis. And you don't know how to drive it. You'd probably be faster with 500bhp or 600 bhp. It will be manageable and you'll be able to put the power down and use it. Be careful what you ask for. But good luck.

  6. I wish Backdraft or Factory 5 would make a larger scale version, longer, wider, longer wheelbase. Car would look amazing and handle so much better

  7. Try another tires! Falken builds crap!
Yokohama are pretty nice for Dragrace, or Hankook…
And short burnout to warm-up would give them some extra grip…
its slippery when its cold 😛

  8. I’m gonna wait for him to get traction 😂😂 .. in other words .. you got left in the dust of an awesome machine with a skilled driver .. nowt to be ashamed of 😂😂👍
