In this episode we do the final mounting of the frame rail extensions and the radiator and move on to power steering landmines. This episode was proudly sponsored by Audible. Start your free 30 day trial and get a free audio book now by going to http://audible.com/build

15:03 Your Head Asplode!
But why, why did my head asplode?
Probably miss-remembering somewhat; I hope someone saves the lonestarrunner from flash's wrath…
That cooler/ brake pipe needs supporting or it will fatigue and crack, not today or tomorrow, but it will crack.
I normally accept ur hacks but that cooler was a fail.theirs no cooling with using a brake line that has no fins on it to "cool" it lol ik down the road ud get a real one but still lol
Some of those bends look a little kinked, I think I'd try again.
We missed a 0 there… that got me rolling. haha
Dear Chris. Please tell us what gloves you wear.
looks more like transmission fluid to me
The adhesive was a nice gesture but really didnt do anything as a large part of it got scraped off when the extensions were installed. It certainly didn't get spread evenly. Yes, Lotus used the same adhesive but they bonded one piece to another by pressing the two together, not dragging the surface of one across the surface of the other. The build is great and I'm now a subscriber but take it from someone in the collision repair industry – that was mostly a wasted effort.
I thought b is for build had way more subs wtf
when trying to fix that pipe for the power steering cooling, I'd get a couple of pipe joints like the ones that are already on there, and just fabricate proper bends in new piping and so on, it would look allright, and would also allow for easy disassembly for future modifications or repairs. I know I'm late to comment on these things, but proper hydraulics lines are not particularly expensive, but crimping on the proper kind of fittings requires some special tools that I don't know the price of, atleast not in the US.
anyway I love the project, its incredible that someone even takes on something like this in their own backyard garage:P
Can't believe you didn't take the frame extensions for professional powder coating inside and out.
I agree, 4:15 looked awesome going back together…if never seen what it looks like stock…would've thought that's factory! good skills ungodly determination! good recipe for eventual title of Master Builder! lol
Gotta say, good on ya for keeping in things like getting the car in…use it's momentum! Smart using the leverage of the wheel though
laughed hard at the power steering thing…ya know the HYDRAULIC POWER steering. tranny line for hydraulics :D,
So fun 'n funny seeing the learning…series should be called "How you repair a trashed 90k fiberglass lotus Evora? google it!"
what a nice way to do ADS for ur sponsor with that book xd
Why didn't you combine the hard line with the new cooler? The bended pipe cooler will have a way lower cooling performance than the one with the larger surface. Just curious. It could still be enough to do the job but I would take a closer look to the system temp of the powersteering. Greetings from Germany
put it in gear and use the starter if you need to move a foot or two
Who sponsors this episode? I missed it
Loved the practical problem solving on the PS cooling system.I'm training a group of Aircraft maintenance techs tomorrow I'll make sure to plug B is for Build.
HAVE MATT DRIVE THIS ON TheSmokingTire One takes WHEN ITS FINISHED!!!!!!!! @B is for Build
Did you remove the kink in the hard line?????? Maybe that is causing increased pressure. At least check to see if the fluid comes from the kinked line or from the other one ( my bet: the other one, the good one)
You look just like LAHWF
killer work dude! love the attitude and work ethic, keep it up!
episode 100 – roof lost in shipping
cant wait till you get this finished, my family in portand has a neighbor that just got a lotus and its so nice
Fuck audible
is it just me or does he look alot like the main protagonist brian from limitless on netflix? 0.o…
@13:21 – The book with the Orange-ish cover is my favorite book! I've listened to it 6 times, no joke. It's called Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It's read by Will Wheaton and he does a great job! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
b is for book?
i saw that subliminal under armour sponsor son
Hi Chris, wasn't better to use these lines to connect to the power steering radiator (2 curves instead of 5) instead of using only the line with different angles (that seem to closing anyway much the inner diameter) and do with larger curves not l shapes?
