I was a little long winded in this Hang Out, sorry for that. I hope the information was useful however. That said, this is what we talked about in this event. Engine performance issues, fuel smells, idle problems, bleeding a master cylinder dry, evaporative emissions issues, heater core problems, flushing heater cores, and washing engines.
If I didn’t get to your question I apologize. Questions posted after the event ends will not be answered. Questions posted to the YouTube video will not be answered. Next show is October 8, 2014 7pm EST though.

Hi Eric, i don`t know where to contact with you sorry but i am posting my question here,
I have an 05 accord with 200K miles on it. Starts and runs fine every time. But when I am driving the car, turn it off and then try and restart it after, it takes a lot more to start. It acts like it wants to start and then doesn't, like its running out of fuel or spark. You hold it long enough and it sure enough starts every time but it just tells me something is wrong. Any ideas of where to start? Could plugs do this? It only starts like this after immediately starting after it is turned off.
Eric a question for you from half way across the world….I would like to know your point of view on car tuning…. VW Golf Mk2 AWD 16V Turbo 1000HP street car Boba-Motoring ….how can they achieve 0-100kmh in less then 2s?
Eric,
Hi eric I watch a lot of your videos. Today,I had my ac compressor replaced so they added freon and charged the ac BUT I noticed that as I'm driving I turned on my fan from low to high and I felt my car shake a lot. I never had any weird shaking when I drive my car. Second problem, since I was noticing something weird I parked with my engine on and turned on my ac. Car was shaking AND this high pressured air came out underneath my car as if a Lysol bottle was sprayed that's how it looked like I thought something was gonna blow up. 3rd, the fan and ac do not release cold air at all. Can you please tell me what you think.
Rochelle,
Ok I have a 99 accord I keep having to add oil every few days to a week. My car is not blowing smoke there is none in the reservoirand I had it sitting over cardboard in my garage for four days and there was no oil in it. Where is my oil going? The only thing I can think of is maybe my catalytic converter is burning it up before blows out I don't know help please
I am having a hard time clearing the oil from the inside the lash adjusters, have tried the paper clip procedure. Do I have to bleed the old from the lashes before installing ? if so how do you suggest I do it. This is for a Mazda tribute 2001
Thank you
Jaime  ÂÂ
Hi there I have a dumb question could you tell me how to get the spare tire of a ford escape 2005 I have asked many people nobody knows that you I appreciate it
Eric, what's up bro , im from Dubai and im just a begginer in cars mechanics , i want ur answer please coz i found no one answers it so please i want ur help , this is my first comment in ur channel , the question is ( why an engine valve produces oxygene with the fuel , why not only a fuel for ignition ? What is the importance of oxygene in an engine car?)
Waiting ur reply bro 🙂
Hay!! Love your vids!! Today I took a craftsman ratchet back to Sears. It was a pro grade fine tooth. They replaced it with a very old 36 tooth RUST SPOTTED $17 ratchet!! I talked to 3 mgrs by the end of the day and was told " you get what you get" by them all!!! I'm now on comment 37 on various channels. I hope it was worth it Sears!!! I have A LOT of time!!! AND IM PISSED,!!!!
Great help as always, huge thanks Eric, enjoy your weekend.
Eric your beginning to sound like R Limbaugh ie on and on and on after the basic question has been answered 3 hours ago.
Other wise good show
I used to work for a car dealer and we often cleaned engine bays, back in the 1970's. But even then, the only way we would do it was with a steam cleaner. Never had an issue.
P0440 on an S-10? Probably the gas cap. I had this exact issue. I replaced the cap with an after market cap and it fixed it…for about a year then the code came back. I noticed the rubber gasket on the cap was hard and cracked. This led me to purchase an OEM cap. Surprisingly, the OEM cap looked different! It doesn't have a rubber gasket anymore but rather a large plastic seal on the outer rim. That was 2 years ago and no code. Personally, I think the issue is alcohol in the fuel that attacked the old rubber style gasket.ÂÂ
Commen since shit he tell us
Yes that sound is good means your tank has good seal and has no leaks
What about no heat cuz your stat stuck open
smoke machines can be had for as much as 30 dollars including a bit of fluid new. just get a cheap disco smoke cannon
Any one have a clue why my 1992 Honda Accord 4cyl is not getting fire, It would not start I wait 5 min & it would start or sometimes two hrs or a Day! Then As I was driving the car just stopped running the mechanic changed the Computer distributer & he say's he thinks it it's a ground problem?? It's been in the shop for a Month!!! Also my backup ride a 1984 Plymouth Voyager 4 cyl. The Alt. will NOT charge the battery I've went thru two Alt. two Batteries a Voltage Reg. the Test show the Alt is not putting out but on a Mach. it shows it's good? I even took the Gauge panel out & looked @ the Gauge & it didn't looked burned or the circuit board any Help would be Greatly Appreciated. Btw I chk the fusible links & they show good. ÂÂ
Congratulations! You managed to crap away over 8 minutes on one question! Keep it rolling! You go into too much detail.
Eric is wrong about washing the engine.  If your using a pressure washer you need to have it on the most gentle setting.  Cover the alternator and any other parts of the ignition system with a plastic bag and tape it so its sealed.  Or pressure wash it when the engine is running.  Professional car detailers have been cleaning engines this way for a long time.  A clean engine helps you spot a leak faster.ÂÂ

Hey eric i have a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse gs 2.0 non turbo.the car apparently sat for a few months. When i bought it it was burning oil so i got the valve seals replaced dis the timeing belt and water pump also. The car still smokes white, ive noticed the reservoir was almost empty but when it came out of the shop it was full. Could it be burning it because i dont see any puddles anywhere and i check everytime i get in the car. And if its burning how difficult and how expensive u think it would be to fix?
For the person getting their heater core flushed. Another item to check is the heater control valve. It will be on one of the hoses going to the heater core. Feel the hose on both sides of that valve. If it's hot on both sides, then the problem is in the heater core or in the return system. If it's hot on one side of the valve, and cold on the other side, then either the valve is bad, or the control of the valve is bad. This can easily be bypassed temporarily til you have the cash to get it fixed correctly.

Hey eric . Do you recommend using K&N air filters ?
Hey Eric, i have a 1975 nova and the horn rarely works, but it does sometimes but its starting to work less and less, ive replaced the relay and not sure what to do, any suggestions? thanks
could i change a tire valve stem at home, or should i just take it to a shop?
I've recently change the rear brake pads and rotors on my 2002 Toyota Landcruiser and the brakes squeal during light braking, however under hard braking there's no sound. What can be the cause?
Eric, For a 3 year old truck, do you recommend changing the exhaust manifold bolts now, before they rust to the aluminum? That way, years later, the bolts won't be stuck/frozen in? ÂÂ
Should I trust a BMW E30 325i with 110.200 miles? It's from 01/1990, and it looks clean in pictures (I know, pictures are dangerous) but I have no further information and from what I can see in the pictures the seller has 2 fresheners hanging in the car. It seems too good to be true, should I check it out?
How important is is to get rev matching correct when downshifting in a car that is stick
I had my fuel pump replaced by a mechanic, now whenever I open the cap to fill up at the gas station it sounds like I'm opening a bottle of soda. Air rushes out like the gas tank was pressurized. Is this normal? If not, what the heck is going on here? It never did this before.

are they any risks in driving on tires with a small amount of tear from gravel?
I have an 2002 saturn that won't start when I have less then a quarter of a tank of gas on a hill? Do you know what's wrong
Hi Eric..came across your channel after being given a ridiculous quote for A C service on an old van and found your information really valuable and informative. You make things very easy to understand and have been able to replace the AC compressor and drier and will get the regasing done by a professional as I don't have gauges and vacuum pump.Anyhow, will keep learning through your channel..thanks mate!.
I've got a 95 Volvo 850 non turbo with 140k miles. It leaks oil and was about a qrt and half low when I checked it last. I added some oil (not sure if it was the same kind that was already in it). Drove it about 5 miles and the low oil pressure light came on. I tried to make it another mile to my house and the car started to stall when I came to a stop. It would always start up, but then always drop below 500 rps or die at red lights. It also developed a knocking noise by the time I got home. I cleaned the throttle body and idle air control valve. I also changed the oil with a heavier weight, and the light went off and the knocking stopped, but it still died at red lights but only when the ac was running and after the car was warmed up. So I just drove with the ac off. Now it's got the low oil pressure light on and started overheating while driving. I'm sure if the problems are related. I haven't driven it since it started overheating a few days ago. Whether you can help me or not, I'd like to say that I love your videos. They are well filmed and very informative.ÂÂ
