  1. I own a trucking company and deal with the port on a daily basis. The issue is not the lack of trucks or drivers. The issue is the fact that the ocean carriers are not willing to take more empty containers back to China.

If there was a lack of trucks, why is there a line of trucks waiting to get into the port? There should be no lines of trucks waiting if there were no trucks!

A driver waits all day to take an empty container to the port. The port is not taking empty containers back fast enough.

The less empty containers there are in China, more money the vessel lines make.
The lower the supply of empty containers in China, the greater is the demand for containers.

Now the government will charge $100 per day up to 9 days then increase the fee by $100 per day.

The government is NOT helping with the situation; they are encouraging the port to slow down so they can make more money with the fees.

We pay thousands in demurrage fees caused by the port inability to issue appointments for empty containers to be returned which create the lack of chassis to take full containers out the port.

The solution is to accept empty containers without appointment and stop with the non-sense of dual transactions.

If there is no space for empty containers, then start stacking the empty containers at the airport property and release chassis to go get loaded containers out the port!

  2. I wonder how many American jobs are on those ships at all the U.S. ports. Those ship represent how many jobs have gone abroad to make thing we use. There is nothing wrong with trading with other countries but what's missing is the info on product made in the USA waiting to go abroad, where are the photos of backed up goods waiting to be shipped, hmmmm.

  3. Shortage of BLUE collar workers because their parents watched Fox News and failed to raise them.
10 million 20-30 year olds living in their Trump parents basement and not filling Blue collar jobs.

  4. This is what happens when you go Union. lol. Yeah you can have them work 24-7, but you still have the same lazy workers working at their own pace.

  5. Why don't we make at least some of the stuff coming from China ourselves? I know Americans don't want to do certain jobs but do they not want to do ANY job?

  6. The companies operating a port terminal at LA port still aren't 24/7 , look for the terminal hours on the port website ,almost all are closed Saturday and all Sunday..and if you wanna get really miffed check out the companies exit gate live cams..zero to 2 trucks leaving at a time and hours in between.
Appears these companies aren't moving their shipments if that's the case and it's a chassis issue ,an only 2011+ truck on port issue or a space issue they are multimillion companies either buy the equipment to run efficiently or get fined for containers sitting past a certain amount of days, easy fix.

  7. At the of this I hope class A regulation can change at least all drivers on the road should get drug tested and realize this job ain't easy. Federally legal please!

  8. Yeah Biden’s doing a great job of screwing up the American economy. What’s that…it’s not Biden’s fault? I can assure you that if Trump were still President the rabid Democrat Left would be blaming him for everything.

  9. Stop imports for a month to Clear the back log. Buy less save more. Produce in America and there is no need of ports.
Who. Creates the problem, the consumers. Tell China to slow down the exports to America that will help a little.

  10. This makes no sense. I have worked at all of the Norfolk and Portsmouth ports and they were all 24/7. There is no such thing as a holiday either. The dock workers and crane operators don’t work all of those hours. There are several hours involved in ship movements as well. During those maneuvers, they all go home. Shipping is a 24/7/365 business already. There has to be other problems.

  12. More misinformation from NBC. I know some truck drivers sitting there to this day not getting loaded. This is done purposely by this biden administration. Let's go Brandon
